Visa On Arrival is granted to some tourists without prior application according to a Myanmar Journal. According to one witness at the airport, some tourists are seen coming in without prearranged “Visa on Arrival” (the old procedure) but they are being checked out by a tour company agent who deal with the immigration officers. Travel industry welcome the news but a bit skeptical that this process will really allow all nationalities. On the other hand, travelers should check with their airlines if they are allowed to board without any visa or any visa-on-arrival document. We would suggest travelers should contact with reliable travel agency who will meet them at the airport to check them out if there is any problem.
